Skylight Roof Vent Gears Stripped

I have a difficult time opening and closing one of my standard crank roof vents. After some investigation: there is a tiny gear box that appears to have a stripped gear. Can I buy just the gear box stuff? I don't want to replace/reseal the entire vent. If that's the only option- this vent will remain zip tied closed.

If it is a Ventline vent. Replacement cranks are about $8 - $12.

I've replaced the one on the bathroom hatch twice and carry a spare.

As stated above yes you can, just be careful and get the exact replacement. There are some that look similar but are different. I just replaced mine in my Ventline Fan and am glad I took the broken one with me to compare. JMO

Repair parts are available at many dealers. Also, there are several listings on eBay.
