slide out question

I just bought a 2011 funfinder 189fbs. First purchase of travel trailer. Has a small slide out about a foot or so. looking underneath slide out (extended) has a center rail and two slide rollers each side. my question is I can see the tracks of the rollers and plywood sheath where rollers are (when slide out is retracted) is pushed up and cracked slightly!? Also when retract slide out you can hear a pop when slide out is all the way in? anyone have a similar situation?

Thanks for your replys. Talked to dealer he says that all slides with rollers leave track marks on plywood (underside of slide out) he says to keep an eye on it and keep it painted! I cant see why you can not put a metal skid plates there. I will continue to investigate this. Note: I bought this camper (as is) thinking its a 2011 and everything worked. This is my first travel trailer Ive ever bought.

Take it back to have looked it. That might expose you to water intrusion issues (and major rot damage) later on.

I'd be heading back to wherever you bought it (if at a RV dealer) and looking either to cancel the sale, or get the problem fixed. It doesn't sound good because you're bound to have a big problem if the bottom of the slide is beginning to fail. I'm thinking that the whole bottom panel of the slideout may need replacing which sounds like a very expensive job. I hate to have to say that but that's what it sounds like to me.

Good luck!

Never had that problem but from what I'm understanding it don't sound good. I doubt that the plywood is supposed to be pushed up and cracked.

I'm having a hard time visualizing what you are saying. Any chance you can post a picture of the issue ?
