Add me to the dumb TV smart device plugged in camp- we have the Roku streaming stick with really dumb TV- works fine.
The term smart TV always makes me think of George Carlin bemoaning the stupid programming on TV- he tried turning the brightness control up but it didn't work ๐

Are you prepared to shoot down satellites and drones that the government uses to "try" to control the border? Or don't you see them?
I only worry about things within my control....smart tvs, cell phones, OBD devices, info stored on computer etc.
Besides.I have tin hats for outside use

We have both types of televisions in our home. After having internet service and accessibility to Netflex and HULU, it's hard to watch a television without internet now.
But, in the camper we don't always have internet service. The televisions in the camper do not have internet features. So we bought a $30 BlueRay / DVD player with internet on it. This works out very well, as the original DVD player in the camper used the old RCA type plugs (Red, Green, Yellow) and the more modern televisions don't have these inputs any more. So to watch BlueRay or DVD's we had to get a new DVD player anyway. So we made sure it had all the internet bells and whistles.
Now we have the best of both world. When we want to watch internet programming from the televisions in the house, we simply use the DVD player from the trailer. This works very well for us. Except we have to remember to grab the player from the house when we go camping, or if we spend the night in the camper at home and want internet programming.
If you have access to internet, then I suggest the newer "smart" televisions are the way to go. If the internet is NOT your cup of tea, then get the television without out, and you can always add the internet ready DVD player if you want.
