Good evening

I’ve been replacing the vent line wedge shaped covers and encountered an issue, with the clip and the refitting procedure to secure the hinge side , I’ve used a pair of needle nose pliers to squeeze it back into place any input advise appreciated as the clip wiggles, do I need to squeeze it more so.

Clip is called ventline spring clip

Thanks

I couldn't get mine back on when I replaced my 3 vent covers about 4 years ago so I left them off. Do I really need them in place? The vents raise and lower, don't leak, what do the clips do?
