I am going from a 06 f250 long bed to maybe a 2015 f350 long bed with the factory 5ver prep.my question is to use my standard Reese 16.5k hitch with the ford factory prep I will need the adapter which will raise the hitch. Plus the bed is already taller on the new truck by 2 inches. Do you think I will have bed clearance issues with the new truck , I have a 2011 keystone cougar 324 rlb.

I agree with above. Buy a hitch that uses the puck mounting system and sell your current Reese. B&W, Reese, and Pullrite all make good hitches to fit the Ford factory prep mount. I know at least the first two have height adjustment. Easy to remove and leave a flat bed. And no adapter adding extra height to have to worry about.

I would sell your Reese, forget about the adapter, and get the B&W for Ford oem prep.

You can get the B&W for under $1000, and save buying adapter, plus you may get a fair price for your Reese.

The B&W is adjustable, up/down, ahead/back. It would make a nice set up, and easy in/out of bed.
