Water coming out when faucet is OFF

Just bought a used trailer and hooked it up to city water. While I was outside hooking up the hose to the city water input the kitchen sink started running water out of faucet. THE FAUCET WAS OFF. I can't figure out why it let water through HELP !!!

Thank you for the replies. my bf pulled it off and said it was shot. We are replacing it with new one this week.

its worn out ,the water presure is causing it to spin, new set in order, and it don,t have to be a $50.set.lowes has them.

I'm not sure if the faucet you have can be repaired by replacing the little gasket, would try it and if that doesn't work replace the whole thing with a good house faucet.

Faucet internals shot......probably a cheap rv type faucet.

Replace faucet with a 'residential' type faucet......Moen, Deta etc.
