Hope to get to Mobile or even Biloxi, MS tomorrow. I was stationed in Biloxi at Kessler AFB 51 years ago.

We'll be heading west from there... california in a couple of months... home in August
We hope to see some of you over the next 5 months.

Don't tell anyone where we are:W

Inquirees have made me think a bit...

and to share 2012 SPRING LOOP

the general plan... miss the tornados.... be home before the first of June

We are heading south thru Jimmy Carter country to Tallassee... and he coast... getting away from the middle America E/W interstates and the tornado alleys.

We'll be heading west and then down toward Brownsville... then follow the border to NM... North as far as rocky Mtn NP and then head east thru Nashville toward the end of May... we have never been inside the State Capital.

I'll be posting some as we go...

PS... the camperport did great in the storms, no damage that I can see... best $3500 I spent last year. I highly recommend it.

We'll do it again in about 3 1/2 years.... for our 50th wedding aniversary.

-------------------

While we were on vacation we flew to Honolulu and stayed for a few days and then boarded the NCL's Pride of America for a cruise around all of the Hawaiian Islands and stopping many times for excursions.

We had planned to leave the camper in the Sacremento area but we just didn't fit.

We had a backup plan all along and it worked out great. We checked into the Holiday Inn Express at Burlingame (SF airport). One night in the hotel was about $150... it included 14 nights free parking in their controlled access parking lot behind the hotel.

NOTE: we gave away or dumped everything in the refridgerator and turned it off... defrosting it for 15 days.

The batteries were at 100% when we returned... the 55 watt solar panel kept the charge up. I didn't know what to expect and didn't want to come back to a mess.

Hey Sleepy, how are you keeping the fridge going? I'd think the batteries would give out after a while and the fridge would shut off? Or does the park N fly have electrical hookups of somekind?

Sorry Sleepy for the delay, Took the TC up to Silverton to get ready for the 4th of July. Silverton in a high San Juan mountain valley puts on one outstanding fireworks display. Lots of big shells and a few HUGH 10 inch shells that echo like thunder in the valley. They expect 15,000 for the show in a town of 800. TC is waiting for us in a nice spot along Mineral Creek with some friends. Will run up in the jeep Fri.

As for Sarah, she is a Great Pyrenees (from Pyrenees Mts between France and Spain) and about 110 lbs (add a few inches of fir and she looks even bigger). Both her parents are working dogs. She was born in a plywood shack in a pasture full of sheep, spent 8 weeks there until she was weaned. We picked her up and put her in with 5 ewes where she had safety but could not get out. Over the winter she had all the flock added and she became the protector of the flock. She is 5 years old, and is not agressive, but posessive. She will not attack first, but will defend her "family" if pushed. She seems to sleep all day and patrol the property at night. Main threats are domestic dogs, mt lions and bears. Had a bear in the area of our house for two months two years ago that raided the apple trees around the house but left the sheep alone. Wife got to shake hands with it one morning in the dark at her car (both were scared S*&%$^less). Her flock are Navajo Churros, decendants of the early sheep the Spanish brought from Spain in the 1500's. Long stong wool that the Navajos used in their rugs in many natural colors. DW and I run a spinning and weaving supply business on the side and deal a lot on the Navajo Reservation over the last 25 years. Lots of adventures out there over the years. Questions, drop me a PM if you like.
