I would agree with jerem0621, has it been the same side both times? Also how old are the tires? With the Texas heat they may have deteriorated causing a weak tire.
Looks like the only thing that would fit in the trailer would be the tent. With all of the extras they had at the end they must have had a second trailer to haul the gear. Doubt it would have fit in anything short of a full 8' truck bed.
