How many of us out there?Had a nasty grinding noise, so they (local ford fleet center) drained rear end and was full of metal shavings. Once everything got straitened out and added new Kona shocks the rv has been great. We had to replace fridge, but no other issues in 20k miles in 12 months. Getting new rear tires this week, for summer of another Seattle to Florida and between trip...Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Hope you planned on staying in town a couple days.. Theres no way anybody should drive the RV off the lot until everything is fixed. I was lucky to be 2hrs away, and took them a week to fix my to do list. Read through the threads, once its off the lot you'll have hard time getting "warranty" items fixed. They will run you through hoops, take as much time as they want before getting to you. Theres 1 guy that approves any work once its off the lot. The local dealership location can pretty much do whatever you ask them, long as you tell them its got to be fixed before singing paperwork (besides deposit) and leaving. We had 8k worth of work done (rig.pinion, exhaust manafold/bolts, front windshield, toilet, and some random repairs like busted faucet and cabinet hinges. Even had the seller himself on a ladder caulking entire RV !!! The RV we got, was the best of 4 on the lot..Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Seattle to Utah, to Flagstaff, to Orlando Fl. Back to Dallas, up to Denver, then back to Seattle. About 8k miles and didnt have any issues in the 5 weeks. Go camping 2 weeks later and the fridge leaked ammonia when turning it on, 1st out of pocket replacement item. Having to take door frame off to take out fridge is just %$###. Good time to re caulk entire rv though after redoing door.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? 510dogmom wrote: Back up Cameras. I am looking to install a backup camera on my 2012 CA 23A Majestic. The shop I took it to says it cannot install one due to the solid construction of the rear wall. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks Im either going Wifi, or Auto-vox type that uses rear view mirror as monitor. Since i only use scooter on hitch ill use License plate camera and run wire under RV.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Ive been lurker for a while, read entire thread before purchasing CA 24a rental 2 months ago. I also got ours in Washington from same place as rice classic above. We also replaced shocks at our cost, but with Koni shocks. Front ball joints, Rear axle bearing, Exhaust manifold, front and rear brakes all replaced by Cruise America @ Ford fleet center in Tacoma. Before we picked up they replaced, toilet gasket, new kitchen faucet, replaced windshield, new hinges on all cabinet doors, New rear bumper, re-caulked entire RV, and put in new battery. My advice for anybody looking @ CA is to not be in a hurry. Dont leave the lot until everything you see is fixed. We saw ours and created a list and came back a week later once was fixed. I saw another couple that came in to take theirs the same day site unseen from other side of state. We walked through other Rvs just to be nosy and saw issues with each one. I believe people just leave with them as is and either are happy because of price savings or find out later they arent perfect then complain..
