I have a 2010 Grayhawk 31ss and the pipe on my generator only has on clamp. There is a slight drop in the exhaust at the end, which is not a problem. My unit does not have any squeak.
If the AC is a Coleman. I had the same problem and it was control that set the mount of cooling. It is just a variable resister and it would not make a good contact at times.
