I'm going to go in another direction with a new camper build, if you want it (once I've stripped stuff out that I want to hang onto) you are welcome to it. It is in Northern Nevada.Re: Is this "normal" number of problems with motorhome? As others have said, your list isn't my list, but there is always something that needs work. We usually have a "maintenance" day every week or two. My wife goes to the laundry mat and I do my PMs and fix the little things that need attention. If I need specialty parts I am usually able to do pretty well ordering stuff on amazon, and we try to keep spares of critical stuff so it is often just replenishing the spare.Re: Bigfoot 2005 9.6 2500We have a 2006 10.11FR. Bigfoot is an amazing truck camper - and also an amazingly heavy camper. In my experience they are simple, rugged, and a quality build. They also hold their value - I was at an RV show a few weeks ago and the current generation Bigfoots are pretty similar to what you would have bought 10 years ago. Re: Flo is a thief!I've found that being tied to a single insurance company isn't necessarily the best deal for me. Insurance companies manage their risk and portfolios just like any other cautious investor - when they are overweight in an area or thinking the overall risk of that part of their portfolio is increasing they raise rates. At the same time, another company may be trying to diversify by building your type of insurance into their portfolio. So I agree with bgum, Progressive is saying that they don't want your business - but I bet there is somebody out there who does. Good luck!Re: Eternabond prep and install adviceWarm roof, clean surface, pressure - that's about it!Re: Atwood Hot Water Heater Not Working - Need HelpJust checking the obvious - the thermal cutoff is still okay, right? Sometimes they can look okay but have 'blown'. Do you have a multimeter so you can check to see if the heater is getting power? If not, that might be a wise investment. Failing that, I would be checking the circuit board. It's a new unit so it should be okay - but you never know. The circuit boards are worthwhile spares to carry (for the heater and the water heater) and don't take up much space.Re: Lance Aluminum Roof Silicone recommendationsAs others have said, no silicone! If there is silicone on there, I've had good luck cleaning up / prepping metal with these 3M scotch-brite disks. They are actually pretty good for surface prep, period. Good luck!Re: Help w/ Water HeaterAs others have said, circuit board or thermal fuse. It will be obvious if the thermal fuse blew (because it will look burned), and the circuit board is an easy swap. I carry an extra board (and fuse) with me in my spares kit. They don't take up a lot of space.Re: Alaska Caravan Co just cancelled our tourSometimes it is fun to do a group trip for the companionship along the way, but you'll do fine on your own.Re: Dyna BeadsYou can just drop the bag in, but I've always just opened it up and poured. The bag is very flimsy, as soon as you drive down the road it is going to open up.
