Thank you!Surge protector and water filtersJust picking up my new (and my first) class c in 2 days. We have only done tent camping so we have not stayed at an RV site before. I understand I should get a surge protector for when I plug in. I went on Amazon and the price differences are pretty big yet they all seemed to have pretty good reviews. Any brand names people trust? I rather not spend $200 if I don’t have to. I saw some a quarter of that price. Will the cheap ones do the trick? Question 2- do I need to put a filter at sink? Or a filter outside to catch sediment? Would love to know from the experienced what you suggest. Thank you!surge protector and water filtersHi there, We are picking up our new 2021 c class motorhome in a few days. I heard I should get a 30 amp surge protector and a water filter. Well, I just went on amazon and the price difference between the surge protectors are pretty big. Anyone have a brand they like. I rather not spend a ton if I don't have to but if it will keep me from needing to buy a new one after a few uses then willing to spend the money on more expensive one if needed. For the water filters, do we just need one that removes sediment? We have only done tent camping in the past and just carried in our water so not too sure about the water at the RV parks - never been to one. Do I need to filter sediment and then get a charcoal filter or brita filter for the sink too? thanks!Sway QuestionHi everyone, I have another question. We are getting ready to make a trailer purchase this weekend. I have of course read about sway. The problem is I keep getting different information about sway depending where I look or who I ask. My salesman, for example, told us that the difference between a 28 ft and a 33 ft would not make any difference with sway. Can that be right? I know his goal is to make the most commission so hard to tell if he is being truthful. Also - how common is sway? We will be traveling from CA to Michigan and likely further so we will be on long stretches of open freeway for weeks. Is sway something we are going to struggle with daily or is it pretty uncommon? Just an FYI - I have an expedition with a towing package giving me up to 9,200 lbs capacity Thanks everyone!Re: Need Help Deciding which feature for trailerThank you everyone! These gave us a lot to think about! We decided to go for the one with no outdoor kitchen and do the 2nd door leading to the bathroom! This was really helpful. Thank you to all who took the time to reply!Re: Need Help Deciding which feature for trailer TenOC wrote: I would never use an outdoor kitchen. When I cook outdoor I use a stand alone propane grill and/or a propane camp stove so I can locate them where I want. With 4 people I want as much storage space in the TT as I can get and since you have tent camped you are use to cooking outdoors. Thanks - yes, a good point. And we do already have a propane stove.Re: Need Help Deciding which feature for trailer Durb wrote: My kids had a trailer with both an outdoor kitchen and a rear door into the bathroom. They liked and used the outdoor kitchen a lot, especially the blender and refrigerator. One unfortunate opening of the outside bathroom door caused it to remain locked and unused. Hahahaha - yes I could see that as an issue.Need Help Deciding which feature for trailerHello, we are looking to buy our first travel trailer right now. There are three models that look pretty good to us and we are having trouble making a decision. Two of the models have a panel that comes down with an outdoor sink and cooktop area. The third model does not have that but it has a second door which would lead directly into the bathroom. We will be traveling with 2 kids, 2 adults, 2 dogs. Previously, we have only done tent camping so we are unsure what would be the pro/con of these features. We don't want to make a huge purchase and then kick ourselves in a year wishing we had gone in the other direction. Thanks for any help!
