I was looking for a new weight distribution hitch with sway control and ran across one on youtube made by camco called the trekker. It appears to be somewhat similar to an equalizer. Does anybody know how this hitch works or have any opinions?

I have pretty much the exact same truck as you except mine came from the factory with the Goodyear Wrangler ATS load range C tires. They are supposed to be inflated to 40psi according to the sticker on the door jamb.
