I see a lot of post on this board suggesting the one wheel on blocks to remove other wheel.I tried that and with all the weight of one side on one tire I bent the axle.

If everything was frozen you may have to turn it of to defrost everywhere.

A friend had hot water in tank and cold water in hot water tap.The problem was one of the by pass valve was closed.
