Am interested in spending next winter down in the baja.

I am a solo traveler M 47, have looked at the Caravan, however wanted to know if there was a message board to find people who may not be interested in Caravan but like to travel in numbers for safety and support. Thanks for any input!

THanks,

Great help... I have a toyhauler and want to bring my KTM Dirt bike, however guess just a bit nervous about it all. I do not speak a lick of Spanish, although I will try to learn.... Worry more than I should and know after I do it once it will be like what's the big deal,,, Be nice to tag along with someone the first time around.
Can see me getting pulled over on dirt bike (with legal usa tag) and next thing is "impounded"...
Thanks for the suggestion on how to get my feet wet.... Very helpful and encouraging.

Cpeebiles, I travel to Baja once or twice a year. I have never had a problem with the authorities, love the people, food and the land. Lots of great places to camp. DavidK on the Nomads Site has lots of detailed info on camping spots, good Mile Post Info, roads to avoid, etc. As I said, I have never had a problem, I have been checked at some of the Military Check Points, but I know not to carry my gun, ammo or drugs into Baja, so no problem. You might consider a trip to San Felipe as a trial trip. I usually cross at Mexicali, it is an easy 2 hour trip on great roads. There are lots of Americans and Canadians there enjoying the area. Hmmmm, I think it is time for me to go again. JH ๐Ÿ™‚
