I drove a semi for almost 10 years running 48 states - the only place I was ever robbed was San Antonio. Traveling in Mexico since 1971 I have never experienced crime of any kind.

At least in Texas they will not bury you in a mass grave......

Only drug dealers need to worry about mass graves - maybe if more of them were buried in the US there wouldn't be such a huge drug problem - but of course all the drug buyers are in the US.

San Antonio is the highest rated tourist city in Texas. Of course, I'm not sure they know the crime rate. It's a mixed bag, maybe that's the reason I'm a part-timer....:B

I'll stick with my odds in the USA. Yes, I'm in the Houston area too.

Happens all over the US but they don't always get national media attention. We had a guy randomly shooting at cars from his in the Kansas City area a few years ago. He was caught but it took them a few months to get him. Your tourists areas in Mexico are relatively safe but as a native Texan, I would rather live in Texas than spend any considerable time in some parts of Mexico (especially the state of Tamaulipas).

Oh my God all of Texas or just Houston?

What has this to do with returning to Texas, most avoid Houston like the plague.
