Hi, I'm traveling in a 25' travel trailer and want to know the best route from Sacramento, CA to Fort Bragg on the Mendocino coast in CA in August 2023. We have a F250 Truck. I'd like to go on a route that has the least amount of switchbacks. Thanks!

I recently made roundtrip from Fair field on I80 next to Sacramento to Bodega Bay by going 80 to 37 to 101 and then onto to 20 if I was going to Bragg. One time I went via hwy 12 from 80 and it was a near nightmare of screw ball intersections, small towns, heavy truck traffic, many stop signs and stop lights, and changing hwy numbers. Never again unless I want to visit wine country. Cheers

5 to 20 to 101, for sure. Get muffletta sandwiches at Granzella's in Williams.

Your taste buds will thank me! 😉

BTW You can use Google maps and travel down any desired road to check it out. I did that for a local road I wasn't familiar with and when I saw semis knew it was OK.

5 20 101 20 is good. If you go 80 37 101 20 you're into N Bay traffic which may be OK mid day.
