Briley Parkway, Nashville

My son and his family will be returning from Florida to Michigan next weekend, taking I75-I24-I65-I69. Nashville, of course, will be a zoo. I've never taken 155/Briley Pkwy around the city, but it looks like it might avoid a lot of the 24/40/65 traffic. Would appreciate any thoughts. If this is a good route, what is the best way to get from I24 up to the parkway? Thanks in advance.

We always go straight thru - weekdays not during rush hours and it is never a problem.

We just drove through Nashville this morning, Sunday April 6, around 11am, and it wasn't bad. We took I-65 north to I-24 west. We asked the staff at the Tennessee welcome center and they advised going straight through rather than around.
