Going south and west snowbirding first time 201

Normaly I would be winterizing my trailer in November but we may be heading to southern Utah and then to Laughlin Nv. A question for you seasoned travelers would you go directly south from Wisconsin and go across the southern states to Southern Utab to avoid snow.

Early or late November?
Early in November you can take a Northern route and layover a day or two if needed by weather. Late November south for sure
