GoodSam GPS exclusive at Camping World

Does anyone have any experience with the Good Sam (Rand McNally) GPS unit exclusive from Camping World? GPS 7735 is the model number. What I like about in theory you can route yourself based on the type of RV, in our case a Montana at 13' 5", anything that could help us avoid low clearance situations would help for our trips.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Like Allworth, we also have a 7710 around 4 years now. Took a while to learn, but would hate to lose it now, and have to learn something new. Was in SD and gps would knot route me on a Hwy because of a low clearance through a tunnel. You can dock with Rand McNally and get Map updates and also system updates. Has its misses as you will find with all GPS systems, but designed for rvers and I would buy from CW again.

We have been using a 7710 (father, or maybe grandfather to the 7735) for almost three years and find it quite satisfactory. Like others said, turn off the things you do not need, but leave the RV Warnings in place.

I can lay out a route exactly as I want it on the GS website trip planner. Use drag and drop to set waypoints for precisely the road segments I want to use, and then export it to the GPS

Both the trip planner and the GPS unit itself will pop up warnings for low clearance, road construction, narrow roads, propane restrictions, etc. The GPS unit can be set to avoid tolls, U-turns, dirt roads, and several other things.

It will also tell you where the nearest Wal-Mart is!

As I said, we have had no problems with it. (I did purchase "Lifetime Maps", but I think that may now be included.)

We like it.
Has been working good for about 1 1/2 seasons so far.

The options to add ur Rv info into is great.
So far only one instance where it helped us that we know of.

Does have a lot of information but before you hit the road use it in the house and shut off all the ones you don't need. Clears up the screen and doesn't distract you.

i purchased one the beginning of March. In ten days, the gps could no longer find it's location. Camping World exchanged it for another unit. The second unit has been working without any issues. It has a lot of information and takes some time to get used to the menus and where to look for the information you want. My biggest complaint is that the display, even when set to brightest, is difficult to see on a bright sunny day.

I have not tried to set a custom route in it yet. Overall, I like it but wish the display were easier to see. My old smaller Garmin seems much easier to see in daylight.
