Gresham OR why 26 to hwy 35

We will be in northern Oregon in September and we were wondering how hwy 26 from Gresham to hwy 35 and back up to US 84 would be for a class A with a toad?

It looks a little twisty but that's OK as long as it's wide enough.

I'd appreciate any suggestions from people who are familiar with this route.

Thank you.

One more suggestion or place of interest. At the Fred Meyers in Sandy Oregon is a great little Tortilla factory. Sells fresh tortilla made at the store. Very cheap price. It's across the the street from Fred Meyer. That would be across the street or east of Fred Meyers. It's in a little factory type building complex.

Highway 26 out of Gresham considered Mt Hood Scenic Byway. It's a great Highway. Sometimes 4 lanes. Ok for travel by large Motor Homes. Even Semi truck and trailer travel the road. Pick up Gas at Fred Meyers Sandy or Gresham. Watch your speed in Sandy Speed limit in town is 25MPH. While in Sandy stop by Joe's Donut it on the south side of Highway 26 through Sandy Oregon. Best donut anywhere. Better than Krispy Kreem Donut. There are many Forest Service Campground south of Government Camp as you go on Highway 26. Trillum Lake CG, Timothy Lake CG and Clear Lake CG are beautiful CGs and great trout fishing. However they close up for the winter about Sept. 15. There is a Casino just before Madras, Warm Springs Indian reservation Casino if you go that far. Campground at Madras is called Palisades state park and its great with some good views of some hoodoos. The Casino is small but nice and new. Going back up Highway 35 is also part of Mt Hood Scenic Byway up to Hood River. Then connects to I-84. Just west of Hood River on I-84 is Columbia River Gorge National Scenic its an All AMERICAN ROAD. Pick up a Oregon State Scenic Byways & tour route driving guide at any Visitor Center for more info.
Thanks

US26 climbs to the south flank of Mt Hood - with a side road to the ski lodge. OR35 then drops down to river level on the east side. Besides mountain bound traffic, 26 is a major highway from the Portland area to the east side of the Cascades. So it is well traveled, with 3 or 4 lanes in many places. 35 is good 2 lane. Neither is particularly twisty or steep.

Other than being longer than I84, it also misses the waterfalls along the Gorge. But the route is scenic in its own right.

Steap climb up to Government camp then long down to Hood River. Why driving it in the MH? Nice day trip with the toad.
