(I originally posted three links, the link is the same and on the right side of the new page are the corresponding articles, sorry about that)

Three articles listed on the link below. I thought it was interesting that rving is becoming a little more common in Chile. We have been talking about renting or trading in our TT for a Class B so we can go to South America.

With the World Cup coming up in Brazil, Chilenos are looking for ways to get to the games. It appears that many have chosen to import rvs to get there. (1,000,000 Chilean pesos equals $1500 u.s.). They are also renting.

We have also traveled Chile from North to South 13 times while traveling with trekoftheamericas from 1989 thru 2013..... excellent highway and RV dealers in Santiago.

In the past we have used a Lance truck camper and a class C motorhome, both are suited for camping in Chile. Once we also shipped to Arica, and once to Iquique, both were excellent ports to ship into.

Folks, also, there is:

Patagonia Campers (in Buenos Aires: Pilar) sells both pop-up and hard-side Northstar truck campers down there since 2011: have a look-->

I think (this has to be verified) that you can also rent a truck camper if you wish to fly down there, and not drive all the way from "here" :B

Also, there is El Portal del Camping Argentina, for those wanting camping locations there: here--> Argentina seems to be an RVers and campers paradise in Latin America.

We spent a few months going around Chile in our B. The autopista from La Serena to Puerto Montt is impeccable. The rest areas have free WIFI, extra clean showers and you can overnight safely. We never had problems finding places to stop overnight in the less travelled areas.

Touring SA in a B was a great experience.
