Has anyone taken indian rte 13 from east end of Canyon de Chelly to 491 just south of Shiprock, NM ??...it goes thru some mountains and was wondering what grades I would encounter!... tia....rv daytrader

Thanks paulj......this from one of those posts you showed makes me think it is not a good route for me!..." However, continuing along the highway takes you over Buffalo Pass (aka Lukachukai Pass). This is no mild drive. It has long grades at 14%. We were in first gear, pedal to the metal, and losing speed. Coming back down in first, I still had to hold the brake in order to prevent run-away. We could smell it easily."...I would have to get out and push!!
