Liberty Harbor RV Park from New Haven: I-95 (GWB) to US1?

I'm looking at a map and it looks like a direct route from New Haven, Connecticut, to Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey City is on I-95 across the George Washington Bridge, and then going south on US 1. It also has the advantage of avoiding tolls.

Is there a reason not to take US 1 south from Fort Lee to Jersey City in a 40-foot motorhome with toad, during non-rush hours? I'm comfortable driving city streets in general. Here's the view from the windshield of my 40-foot motorhome, this time towing a U-Haul trailer through the French Quarter:

And I've driven to Liberty Harbor from the south and didn't have any problem with the city streets on that route. But I don't know if there are other issues, like low bridges or something, on that stretch of US 1 up to Fort Lee.

I assume it will be slow, which is fine with me, but don't want to attempt something that literally can't be done.

We've just come back from Liberty harbor. The construction seems unpredictable. We had a long backup on Tonelle because of a watermain and a 2-block detour, then missing the turn back.
Avoid anything called Pulaski. There was a single lane stretch and we scraped the side on a foot-high concrete curb.
At one point our GPS wanted us to turn left off an overpass onto the Lincoln Tunnel road.
Once you get on Marin Blvd, everything should be clear sailing.

What we've never found is a clear map of the streets in Jersey City and Hoboken.

Another local here... Strongly recommend 95 over the GW Bridge then stay on 95 south (turnpike) to jersey city. Best $10 you'll spend. Will drop u right by Liberty RV. Avoid 1/9 skinny 4 lane highway with lots of curves where oncomming trucks WILL cross over the double yellow line.

1/9 is not bad from the GW down into Jersey City, the issue is that it is on the wrong side of Jersey City from Liberty Harbor, and the only practicable way to cut over to the east is via 139 towards the Holland Tunnel. There is construction everywhere from near the former Tonnelle Circle, where a new interchange is half done to serve a replacement drawbridge, 139 itself is under major reconstruction too. You have to go almost all the way to the Holland Tunnel Toll Plaza to make a tight right onto Marin Blvd., which I believe is the direct route to Liberty Harbor.

I live in Northern NJ, and was just in Jersey City Monday night for a meeting, know all the tricky ways, and if I was even in a car headed to Liberty Harbor I'd take the Turnpike Extension to Grand Street.

Thanks for the local knowledge. It's exactly what I was looking for.

If you can handle NO then you can handle US 1/9. The two routes are combined in that area. There is some construction in the area now and it has been a while since I have been there. Just make sure you follow the truck route when/if it separates from the regular road.
