Garmin provides free updates on their newer units, 4 times a year, and that includes Mexico.
However never follow their suggested route before viewing on Google maps or MS S & Trips first. Their routing leave much to be desired but the maps are accurate.

Free Lifetime Updates are great, as long as you update more often than once a year.

Otherwise, Garmin was "nice" enough to provide a message something like:
"Map is now out-of-date. Please visit Garmin to buy an upgrade".

I think what I'll do on my trip from Laredo to La Penita is put my 2013 SD card for Mexico Street Maps in my old Garmin and my 2015 version of Street Maps in my new Garmin and see if there's any difference when they're sitting side by side on the dash.

I finally got a reply from Garmin - I had emailed and asked them about the new maps........

Good evening,

The 2757 comes with Canada, Mexico and all 50 States pre-loaded.

When you update, it will all go.

One caveatโ€”the maps grow each quarter. They are so big now that with some units you must use a blank SD/microSD card to hold it all. The 2757 isnโ€™t that way yet.

Garmin Express is the program you need to install a map update:

http://software.garmin.com/en-US/express.html

When itโ€™s done, always verify. Go to the where to/view map page. Tap settings in the lower right. Tap map and vehicle. Tap my installed maps. Make sure it says 2015.20 (thatโ€™s the latest this time). Also be sure it says โ€œallโ€ with no other languageโ€”just simply โ€œall.โ€ That will mean it has Canada, Mexico and all the US.

If when you are done, you would like a double-check please let me know what that page says fully and totally.

Thanks so much.
Best regards,
Loy

So I did the download of both Garmin Express and all the updates - Express pretty much does it automatically. One problem is this is well over 3GB - maybe more - no way I can tell for sure - but it took our Verizon over our monthly allotment so costs us at least $10.

I just look around quickly at a couple of key roads. Yes, the NW loop of the Arco Norte is on there which completes the west coast to east coast cuota. The new devil's backbone between Durango and Mazatlan is also on there. I haven't looked at any more details but if anyone has any specific questions about a specific place I may be able to check. Our 2757LM was very good last year and should be better this year. Only the smallest dirt roads seem to be missing. All updates are FREE with the 2757.

Our 2757LM came loaded with all of North America including all of Mexico. It has lifetime updates. I will try contacting Garmin to see if Mexico is included. I think the Mexico specific Navigator may be for those units that did not originally come with Mexico - but just guessing. Wondering if anyone else has loaded the full update and noted changes to Mexico? More examples of new roads would be the new Devil's Backbone between Durango and Mazatlan which should be on there by now. Has any one seen any specific new roads that are on the new version?

Brian.. Yes it does cover all of Mexico, not just Mexico City. I'm not sure if the new version of Mexico City Navigator maps are included in your Garmin Life Time updates but I kind of doubt it. If it was included, there'd be no reason for Garmin to have a separate Mexico Street Maps. I guess you could send a note to Garmin's customer service and ask the question. My previous version (2013) didn't show the new highway 80 from San Luis Potosi to Guadalajara plus some new road construction between Nuevo Laredo and Monterrey.

You say "Mexico City"? Do you mean all of Mexico? We have a 2757LM with lifetime updates. Went on Garmin and see there is a complete download. Do you know if this includes all of Mexico updates? Did see that they have new Navigator for Mexico but not clear if it is included in the overall updates? I guess we could just do the download to see. Not sure what could change so we could check to see what new stuff might be on there. I think the last version did not show some new roads such as the western swing of the Arco Norte around Mexico City. Can you tell if that new road is on there? Or are you aware of any other new roads that we not on the previous version? We have found most of what is on Garmin to be very accurate and pretty much up to date even in many small towns - though not all small towns - which may never be mapped. We also use Microsoft Streets & Trips 2013 (the final version they will ever produce) to plan and check routes as it is much easier to use - once you figure it out. Just wondering what to expect on the new Garmin for Mexico. We have found that Garmin and S&T are all we need to go just about anywhere in Mexico. I know of no other software that covers more of Mexico.

Thank you for the update.

I have been looking at one of the Garmin Nuvi GPS for our upcoming trip and considering buying 3rd part maps. Perhaps the Garmin maps are improving enough that I won't need the added maps.
