Parker Arizona bridge after fire Sept. 23rd?

Anyone have an update on the Parker Arizona bridge? They had a fire on Sept. 23rd and it was closed for a time. Asking to confirm if that is still a viable route between California and Arizona, or if I should avoid the bridge and choose a different route.

Thanks,

John

Thanks to all for the info. Couldn't find anything on-line about the re-opening and didn't want to get there and find out I had to back track.

Thanks again!

The bridge into Parker is open. The utility bridge used by construction crews was the damaged bridge. The official statement from ADOT was as follows:

"The bridge over the Colorado River that connects Parker, Ariz. and Earp., Calif. is open to traffic after it was briefly closed due to an overnight construction fire on Monday, Sept. 23, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The bridge reopened to the public prior to 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24."

Hope this helps...happy trails! 🙂

Went through there day before yesterday and the highway is posted no RV's or commercial vehicles on/over the dam (but we did not get down to the dam itself). :C
