I understand the Reef is quite a distance from town. We do not have a tow vehicle, would you recommend perhaps staying at Playa Bonita or even closer because of this?
Are taxis reasonable to shopping and restaurants?

We do enjoy walking the beach and swimming!
Any other recommendations, suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as this will be our first visit in our Class C RV.

Playa de Oro (http://www.playadeoro-rv.com/)on the other side of town in the Mirador neighborhood is also right on the beach and within walking distance of numerous restaurants. It is also within walking distance of the Malecon for anyone in reasonable shape. There are more in park activities at Playa Bonita. The two beaches are totally different with the Playa Bonita beach being flat and wide and the Playa de Oro beach being sloped. Better walking and kid swimming on beach at Playa Bonita, better fishing, snorkleing, and tide pools at Playa de Oro, great lying on the beach at both. Taxi's are cheap to get around town but do not always go directly to your destination. Hook up with Russ at Penasco Recreation (http://www.penascorecreation.com/)to get a great tour of the town.

We stayed at Playa Bonita last year and enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to returning early next spring. The beach is great, the shrimp are fantastic. We will bring our toad with us this time, but mostly because we want to explore more. I think you could easily arrange for a taxi into town or anywhere else that you might want to go for that matter.
