Round Rock, TX to Branson, MO

Three rigs will be traveling to Branson the weekend of Oct. 11th. Since that is the weekend of the University of Texas/Oklahoma football game in Dallas, no one in their right minds wants to be on I-35 that weekend.

Our plan is to leave Round Rock early Saturday morning and drive to Texarkana via Tyler. Can anyone suggest an easy in - easy out, on the highway, with long pull throughs, RV Park in the Texarkana area so we won't have to un-hitch?

One good possibility is Shady Pines RV Park on US 67. Coming from Tyler I would suggest taking Texas 155 (Turn at the North East Texas Health Center) all the way to Linden where you would pick up US 59 north.

The best way to get to Shady Pines would be to turn from US 59 onto Farm to Market Road 2148 (turn left), then turn left again on US 67. Shady Pines RV Center and RV Park will be less than a mile on your right.

You can then easily get back on whatever highway you wish to take from Texarkana.

We tow this way all the time, as we live 3 miles south of Texas 155 and bought our present fifth-wheel at Shady Pines.
