Route from Dutch John Ut. to Cedar City Ut.

Hello:
We're planning a trip to Yellowstone next month and coming back via Dutch John Ut. After leaving Dutch John heading towards Vegas but want to stop in Cedar City Ut. Looking at mapquest there's a couple of different routes. One is 191 south to the 6 ,west to the 15 at Spanish Fork. The other is 191 south to the 70 to the 15.

Does anyone have an opinion as to which would be easier and safer?

Have 2500hd duramax towing a 30ft. 5er.

Be advised...There is a massive forest fire very near Cedar City. Been burning for weeks. Can't get it under control.

I pulled north on I-15 through Spanish Fork about a year ago and I will avoid going anywhere near Spanish Fork again. Hence I would take option 2: US-191 -> I-70 -> I-15.
