The part that has me hinkie is after we leave 15 and get to the campground.

A few more details might help - Time - Kids? - Mission - Any other spots to Visit? - will it be a Loop, returning on a different route? - Have you looked at passing through Zion and Bryce - RT 12 - Capital Reef - Goblin SP - Moab - RT 128 - then up - Bing Map
Just hard to really give you much info without knowing the Mission. My route adds 6 more Hours of driving and Miles of Smiles:)
