Scottsdale Arizona 2023

The wife and I are starting early on planning a trip to Scottsdale for SF Giants Spring Training in 2023 in our 39' 5ver TH. Does anyone have any personal recommendations for a mid week stay around the last week of March? We've never been so we're not familiar with how close all the different Stadiums are. We would like to catch a couple games during the week and we're not against driving a little to get to different stadiums depending on the schedule and proximity to Scottsdale Stadium. 55+ is OK and we'll have 1 dog with us. We don't need much as far as amenities and even dry camping is OK provided it's clean and safe. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

Thanks for all the great information. I think I'm narrowing down our stay to Usery Mountain. I understand Scottsdale Stadium may be old but it's the Giants Park so that is the Stadium I'm most interested in visiting.

Did the spring training for 13 yrs. You need to make your reservations for RV parks as soon as possible as well as your baseball tickets. Spring training brings many, many "Snow Birders" for the warm weather. Around the town of El mirage (15 miles west of Scottsdale) , there are 4 Major league stadiums close to each other. Rather than fight the downtown traffic in Scottsdale and around the Giants stadium which is old and small, I would wait till the Giants played K.C. in their stadium. K.C. stadium is newer and beautiful for fans to watch the game. I use to stay at the Publeo El Mirage Resort from Jan. through March. A little costly but is a great park with all the amenities you could want. Golf course, paddle board courts, tennis courts and resturant. I use to make my reservations 1 yr. advance.

we've been winter arizonans for years...sometimes just for a month, sometimes for the entire winter. the Valley of the Sun encompases a large area and traffic can be a character builder. most day games start 1-1:30 and are done by 4-4:30. getting to and into the park before the game starts is easier than getting out and home after the game (afternoon rush hour). some of the parks are fairly close together, others not so much. google can give you very accurate distance and travel times between parks. plan on getting to your destination park early as parking at some of the parks can also be a character buildier. spring training is usually over by the last week in March. tickets for most clubs go on sale in January. finding a spot at most RV parks(public and private) in March should not be much of a problem.

My friends also told me Cave Creek Regional Park is nice. Other possible County park choices include Usery Mountain Regional Park and McDowell Mountain Regional Park.

Couple more options....Eagle View RV Resort at Fort McDowell (by casino) and you could even check out Westworld, which is an event center that has RV sites.

Then there are a ton of snowbird type parks in Mesa and Apache Junction. And Lost Dutchman State Park in AJ.

Cave Creek County Park is very nice. Water and electric hook-ups. Dump station. Showers. Quiet, north end of Phoenix (close to Scottsdale). Stores and eateries nearby.
