We are planning a trip to Boston this summer and it looks like there are two ways to go. The shorter route is on toll roads in Penn, the other goes way north to avoid the tolls. My questions is. How much are the tolls and which way would you go and why?

Thanks for the help

rcpilot, my suggestion would be, not sure where in Tenn. you are, but doesn't really matter. The best way, IMHO, would be 81 north to Penn. (no tolls) Then, in Scranton, pick up 84 east. (again, no tolls.) Cross over the Newburgh/Beacon bridge, (yes, toll) into Mass. From there, 84 turns into I believe, 91, and up into Boston.Distance wise, don't think its much different than schlepping over further east to het to 95, NJ turnpike. Hope it helps.
