I just purchased a 29' springdale that I tow with a 07 Tahoe. We are planning a trip to Redwoods national park in California from Oklahoma. Just wondering which way would be easier to Tavel with this set up. If up through mountains by Denver or south by Flagstaff, Ar? We are new to traveling with a TT and would appreciate tips and advise.

You seem to be at the max...or over. I don't believe in being at the max.

We will have six riding probably 850# and not much in the vehicle, we plan to put most of our luggage and stuff in the trailer. I think payload is 1,776# for the Tahoe

"Thanks, i know towing capacity is 6700 and my TT should be around 5500lb"

Eman, TV payload is different than TV towing capacity. Most of the time TV payload is maxed out before TV tow capacity. Don't overload your Tahoe. If your TT is 5,500 wet/loaded, that's about 720 pounds subtracted from your payload. How many riding in the Tahoe? What will you carry in the Tahoe?

I agree with NMDriver. Avoid the heat. My 2007 Tahoe was a good vehicle with its 4 speed transmission but the 2015 has more power, 6 speeds and tranny braking. Much better. Are you watching your payload? 2015's is 1,595. Can't remember 2007's.

If you want to have cooler weather and nicer (IMO) scenery for most of the trip go through CO, WY, UT, NV. Going via I-40 you will be in the desert heat from Kingman to Tehachipai and up the central valley of CA on I-5 is not much cooler or more interesting scenery wise (again IMO).
