US23 Columbus, Ohio to Portsmouth?

Planning my return to Florida. Anyone traveled from Columbus south on US 23? I'm thinking this would avoid all the construction and the bridge in Cincinnati (which in my opinion is worse than Atlanta!). Looks like a straight shot and back on I75 in Lexington, KY. Low clearances? Traffic? Etc?

I'm with Dandy Dan on this one. My home is in an eastern suburb of Cincinnati. I've done the same drive several times. It has the added advantage of missing Atlanta. I-77S thru WVA is a toll road, but worth it. If I remember correctly, my 'C' pulling a toad was around $10 total.
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.

There is a fair amount of 2 lane on 23 south of Columbus. I came home from Asheville on 23 one time and will not do it again. 3 weeks ago we traveled I-75 south. Yes there was construction in Dayton and some in Cinci but it was not bad but we traveled on Sunday. Went as far as Renfro Valley.

Have you thought about heading out of Ohio and catch I-77 south and then pick up I-95 to continue on south into Florida. Either way have a safe trip and Happy Camping.
