Will this WaterPur water treatment system be adequate to use water in Mexico out of the tap?
Our motor home has a WaterPur filter system with a CCi-10CLWE12 cartridge. It is made of activated carbon particles fused into a uniform block, providing a micron rating of 1 micron.
Removes over 99% of turbidity
Removes over 99% of Giardia and Crypotosporidium
Does not permit the passage of cultivated bacteria

We use an undercounter two filter system. It is 100% safe, approved by our Calfornia water district. 5 micron, and .5 micron. Used it for years.

We got tired of handling a 5 gallon jug-with two big dogs, a cat and us, it got old. HOWEVER....5 gallon jugs of great water are readily available and cheap in Mexico.

Use the search bar to read the many, many discussions about what is being used and what works.

I'm sure most travelers will be fine in Mexico, and elsewhere, drinking the water. Although why take a chance, and with everyone you are with sharing that chance, as well? Bottled water is not expensive to most RVers. Yes, its nice to go for the finest and the best gadgets and be proud of doing it, but water and the food one eats, keeps you alive and happy. We always bought bottled purified water for drinking, and most of the time it was used for showering as well. Extravagant? Not in the least, and while in our boondocking position, it was more convenient. As Canadians, were learned what bad water can, and did, to hundreds living in the town of Walkerville, Ontario. People died, many more left suffering compromised organs, from the water, when those in charge neglected their duties. The Mexican government has gone to considerable trouble to have purified water available. It is a bargain.

Why fool around with filters and UV. We do not drink the tank water. But we do shower in it and even brush our teeth. We buy bottled water. Cheap and it is everywhere. I carry a 5 gallon plastic container and pour the water from the garafons into my 5 gallon jug.. Keep one gallon in the fridge. If I were trying to "clean" the tap water I would only use a system that requires bleach.

In the years we spent in Mexico we used a three stage whole house system (trash filter followed by charcoal filter followed by UV treatment}. It was a 12V unit just in case we lost power in a campsite.

I also installed a 12V water pump in front of that unit to boost water pressure.

We drank the water from that system without a single "Montezuma" moment in the time we spent in Mexico.

We did hit a campsite where they didn't allow reverse osmosis units because of the waste of water, that campsite trucked in water.

NO!!!

You are asking for trouble, buy bottled water, a good stomach or intestinal infection is not nice to treat on vacation.

Learn about water filters and drinking water systems at water filter university. We have a UV system from H2O Splash which is part of water filter university. We also have two incoming 5 micron filters to filter all our water. We also have a 0.5 micron coconut charcoal filter from filters fast - website addresses below. The UV is a one gallon per minute for drinking water only - costs about $100 - should kill all bad stuff. We do not have reverse osmosis (RO) as too much water required. Takes a bit of effort to create a system for safe to drink water. Requires 120volts AC for the UV. The coconut 0.5 will take out most bad taste. Adding bleach can help if the bleach says it is chlorine based on the label. US Clorox for example - not all bleach has chlorine.

We drank the tap water in mainland Mexico for 3 months, but often added plain bleach as we filled the tank.
This last time the Baja water often tasted so bad that for the first time in 10 years travelling, i resorted to bought water.
Back to the original question, very few mechanical filters can be trusted to produce potable water from suspect supplies under all conditions.
