Yosemite Lakes

We are taking our travel trailer to Yosemite Lakes campground in a week and was hoping someone could give some advice on best roads to take. We do more beach camping but this time we are headed to the mountains to meet family and don't want to get stuck on a highway that isn't wide enough for pulling a trailer. GPS doesn't always give good advice! We are coming from the Hanford/Fresno area and campground website says to take 99 North to CRJ14 to Oakdale and go right going east on 120. What do you think would this be a good route or is there a better safer way? Any areas on this drive we need to be concerned about? Thanks!

Since I come from Sacramento, I always take 120 East from Manteca. After leaving Oakdale, the road is good all the way to Groveland. Just make sure you don't go up Old Priest Grade Road with an RV or trailer. Stay on 120. After leaving Groveland, watch for road work where they are repairing a bridge. Traffic is monitored by a red light for one-lane traffic. I passed by Yosemite Lakes last week and it was almost empty. Don't know what's going on with this park, but it was not in the best of shape. Hope you find it better than my rating.

Thank you so much for the information. We will be sure to stay away from Old Priest Grade Road, don't want to get stuck! I have read some reviews about Yosemite Lakes and they were not the best. Our extended family picked this place and invited us along so we will hope for the best. Thank you again just what I was looking for.

I would say a combination of paper and GPS maps. (Not to forget about the freeways direction boards).

On my personal choice I depend a lot on GPS maps. Though I misdirected sometime.
