We will be at Ft Pickens aver the 4th of July. Will we be able to see the fireworks from the beach?
Any must eat places? We are going into the Aviation museum one day, but other than that plan to lay low.
Thanks!

I live here and will also be staying that week at Pickens. I suggest you drive down toward the entrance there are a few parking areas, then sit back and watch the show. Fireworks will be over toward the ballpark which you will be able to see great from the parking area. I suggest eat breakfast one day at Native Cafe there at the beach, but a must is McQuires Irish Pub. Just be warned the bathroom signs are backwards so when you go to the door that says men it points to the other door. The best food by far to me is The Five Sisters at Belmont and Deville st about 20 min drive from the beach. Be sure to see the IMAX movie while at the Naval Air Museum.

We are making our third trip to Ft Pickens... leaving this evening. We love the CG and the area. We really like Loop A.

There are lots of really good restaraunts... Landry's, Hemmingway's, Crab's, The Fish House, Flounder's. We'll have to look for Joe Patti's next week. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We've been to the Naval Aviation Museum a few times... it's a really big place with lots of stuff to see. The lighthouse is just down the road... another great place to visit.

Unfortunately, the Blue Angels' practice sessions are cancelled this season... we were really looking forward to seeing them this year since last year we visited during Memorial Day week and discovered they do not practice that week.

Happy Camping!
John.
