Atlanta Suggestions (Stone Mountain Park)

Was looking at Stone Mountain Park for a weekend (2 night) stay.
Reading up on the reviews, I have second thoughts about their "RV" park.
Heard about very narrow roads and uneven sites can cannot be leveled.
Not to mention the price!
Was hoping someone here either has better (recent) experience or alternative suggestions for a weekend stay.
Our experience sofar has been great staying at Georgia and Florida State Parks but I have been unable to find any near the location I mentioned.
Thanks!

we want to schedule a trip to http://www.noahs-ark.org/, this looks like a decent place to consider

We were in site 329 last summer. Same as the others, no leveling needed and worth the $$ as we had a great view of the mountain and the lake.

Neither did I but we were there for only two nights. Little to no shade, too.

We were just there for this past week. Our review is on line also. For the most part the sites pretty level, we didn't need anything under the wheels in site 327. The roads are narrow but did not cause any anxiety. There were lots of motorhomes and larger 5th wheels in the loop we were in. The "premier" sites by the pool were packed in tight. I did not see the appeal to those.

Like dodge guy, my review is also in rvparkreviews.com (we visited in July of last year). Agree with other responses - how level your site is depends on the site you get. We were in the loop around the pool; our back-in site was level side-to-side and pitched just a bit front to back. I didn't think the roads were all that narrow - I've seen worse.

In my opinion, the laser show is the best thing there.

The premier sites are more level if you are willing to pay extra. They run a special of two nites and a two day pass to all the activities if you are interested. The laser show at night is also nice and free. We have been there two times and are going back in a couple weeks. We always enjoy our stay there.

Depends on the location inside e campground. It's been about 13 yrs since we've been there and unless things changed....best area seemed to be a loop area close to the office. We camped a couple times at the park, once with a tent and second time with a pop up. The time with the tent was an ok spot. Not far from the lake. If I remember correctly it was more of a pull through type spot. Can not recall if it were level for a camper as we were in a tent. The next year we were in the pop up. The space we were put in was flat were the camper set, but it i,mediately went down hill. A bigger camper would of had issues. Don't remember narrow roads. But if you have a big 5th wheel or 42' DP, then yeah, roads will be narrow for you then. The park around the lake area is full of Georgia pines.

My review was in there. I didn't see any narrow roads. And our a site, a pull through was very level. I needed no boards for leveling. Just pull in and drop the jacks! Very nice place.
