We are thinking of heading to Austin, TX for Memorial Weekend or the eastern side of Tx. Any suggestions on where to stay and things to do and see. It is an area of the state we have not seen.
We also like Hickory Creek COE in Lewisville, TX. Is there a nice COE like that in the Eastern side of the state that someone can recommend?
I wanna go where I haven't been, but still wanna see what I've seen again!
Nice COE parks around Lake of the Pines (east texas) - we recommend Brushy Creek COE....
I certainly agree with Joe on this. This campground is about 15-20 miles from our home.
I would add to this Tyler State Park which is about 10 miles north of the city, which allows visits to Tyler. At this time of the year the azaleas are in bloom and there are few more beautiful cities than Tyler with its Azalea Trail.
Also Caddo Lake State Park, a true bayou setting, a character all its own.
There is a nice COE park north of Taylor on the lake. Be aware that a bridge collapsed on I-35 at Salado north of Georgetown. That interstate will be a mess for a while.
