Bahia Honda Status ?

Any news on Bahia Honda campground ? Their website says closed and under repairs. We have reservations for mid- Feb. so was just wondering if anyone's been by and seen first hand what's going on.

Ok I’ll check both sites, and boat area hopefully tomorrow. We got down to Fiesta Key a little later than expected today, but the waterfront site is worth it

I guess you don't own your own kayak.
Bahia Honda is one of the best spots in the Keys for making it your base camp for kayaking.
You can head south and take off from multiple places from Big Pine Key, Cudjoe Key, etc or head north back to Marathon and take off from Multiple places there too.

I always managed to get something 14-17. Even got both 16 & 17 once---the odds of that is astronomical. At any given time I had 5 paid-up 2 week reservations.

I’m still planning on riding my mountain bike to Bahia Sunday or Monday. If u post your site number I can try to get specific info and or pictures

Anyone know when the Bahia Honda boat ramp will open? What about the camper's marina inside Buttonwood? Is it open for use?

We leaving NJ friday the 12th for Fiesta Key. I plan on biking to Bahia Honda either Sunday or Monday. I will take pictures and post here

With a lot of the foliage gone, you can see into the campground from the bridge north bound. The place looks full!!

OP here-- I drove by the other day and everything looked in pretty good shape, but no campers there. I'll stop by later this week ( we are staying at Blue Water key now) and report back
