My dues are due the end of this month. Anybody know what's going on. The web site is down, Blue Mesa has a new name. We're down to 4 or 5 parks.Can AOR membeship be in in trouble?

There are only 3 parks left that Western Horizon still owns, everything else has been sold. You can still go to the other parks but instead of paying the 3-5 bux a nite, now you will now be paying anywhere from 10 to 15 a nite.

By law, when a park was sold, a replacement was to be purchased within a certain distance from the sold one. This as never happened and therefore WH has broken their contract with those that purchased.

I saw what was happening and moved my AOR and C2C to another park before my home park got sold. Instead of paying WH the 300+, I now pay 60 per year to my home park.

I want to thank Don and Lee for their advice regarding cancelling my membership in western Horizons and Blue Mesa Ranch. As back ground I have been a member of Blue Mesa Ranch for 19 years, and for the last 10 years my annual dues have been $275.00 a year, plus I am a member of AOR with dues of $99.00 a year. I haven' t visited Blue Mesa for a least 5 years, but I have been using AOR extensively. They are based out of the same office in Gunninson, Colorado that Western Horizons uses, so I wondering with all that is going on at Western Horizons (and who really knows what is going on), how they will fare in the future.

I did mail my cancellation dues statement this past week to Blue Mesa, certified mail, return receipt requested. As an interesting aside, the bill said Blue Mesa Ranch but the envelope said Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch. I appreciated Don's email reply to this post, about finding a park he could be a member in, allowing him to retain his AOR membership. I have contacted that park, it's in Georgia, but my preference would be to become a member of a park in the West.

My claims are supported by facts, in fact if you go to the yahoo users group that one on the repliers to this post mentioned(you have to join), you'll see that my post was very tame compared to some of the other posts on that web site. My question about AOR was,if Western Horizons is in such bad shape, then how can AOR surive as they are owned by Jim Lokin??

The secord part of the question,that I have,is why should I pay my $275 annual fee to Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch, when I am only paying to have a home park affilation that enables me to be a member of AOR, and their existance looks very tenuous. I've got 15 days to sort this dilemma out.

Here's why I said that. I pulled up the Blue Mesa site immediately without any problem whatsoever. Then, I go to the AOR website and found dozens of participating parks, not the 4 or 5 parks claimed by the OP. I found that both of the claims he made did jive with the facts. Hence my skepticism. I'm sorry if I jumped to a conclusion. As it stands today, I went back and checked both of the site and still found his claims weren't supported by the facts.

Looking at a list of WHR properties on their web site, Blue Mesa is no longer a WHR property but now an affiliate what ever that means. You can see the list here Web Site

You may want to join these WHR members in Yahoo to learn more about what is going on with WHR. Some members in this group have decided to stop paying their dues. If you do the same, make sure you do it correctly to avoid being sent to a collection agency at a later time for non-payment.

I don't have an agenda, I just know that The Western Horizons web site has changed and that they are selling off parks, so I'd like to know that they'll still be in business in 2015.

I didn't have any problem with getting the BMRR website to load. Sill called itself Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch. And the AOR website shows what seems to be 100+ CG's still affiliated.
