Hello,

We plan on camping in the Finger Lakes region the week after the 4th of July. We are looking for campground recommendations.

Also, what would you recommend to do around that area.

Thanks in advance!

KOA in Watkins in nice and if you have kids they have been adding more and more stuff like rock wall, zip lines, etc. Watkins Glen state park is nice, and the hiking trails through the gorge is awesome. Lot's to do in the area during daytime hours, wineries, motorsports museum, Seneca lake, etc. Less to do at night unless bar related. Depending on your likes, Curtis museum in hammondsport, Cayuga lake, Hickory Hill campground in Bath NY is really nice too. Lot's to do and great restaurants if that's your thing. Just plan on being at the campsite at night time as most of these towns roll up the carpet after dark...not a bad thing. The Finger lakes wine festival is at the Watkins racetrack July 11th if you're here then.

Yes, Wineries and Breweries are plentiful in the whole area. Also, Watkin's Glen State Park is beautiful to walk through, just take your time, it can be strenuous. They also have a campground their but not sure of any details.
