Looking for a camp ground/resort on the Gulf Coast of Florida that is also on the beach.
If anyone has stayed in, or knows of such a place I could sure use the help. Too make matters worse, we would like it to be in the middle to upper part of Florida.

All ideas welcome.

Thanks,
Andy

St Andrews is ok, but people have been reporting that when it rains, some of the sites are closed. Appears it takes a while to go away. Topsail has a similar issue, but its gone in a day or so.

We drove through Henderson and the sites were nice...The only downside is no sewer.

If you are under 40', Turtle Beach in Sarasota (county run cg) is an option. wooded, beachfront and free trolley service up and down the beach.

El Governor in Mexico Beach (just east of Panama City) is just across the road from beach you have access to via the hotel. Some spots can see the beach/ocean. The hotel has a bar with entertainment and you are a short walk from Killer seafood restaurant (and the famous killer bowl!).

Or ride a bike. It's only a 15 minute walk.

Topsail is a very nice but you aren't on the beach; you have to take a shuttle or walk a mile. Ho Hum is on the water but not much of a beach.

Sunset Isle and Low Key Hideaway on Cedar Keys are on the water but its a back bay, not the Gulf. We love it there.

Agree...Grayton's location and availability to the beach was better. But Topsail is much nicer. If Grayton would either put the full hook ups to the older section amongst the vegetation and shade, it would be ideal. The new section with the full hook ups are out in the open and nothing but a hot gravel pit. But it beats paying $100+ and being packed in at Camp Gulf.

If your looking for a state park there are several of them in the panhandle part of the state. Personally I like Grayton beach, St. Andrews , Big Laggon , st Joe peninsula. There are alot more and all offer different things. Most are not right on the beach but the beach is a short distance away from campground.
