Chautauqua, NY Campgrounds

I am looking to stay near Chautauqua Institution this summer, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or experience with any of the campgrounds in the area. I've done some research and three look somewhat possible. Camp Prendergast (closest), Camp Chautauqua (looks the priciest), Chautauqua KOA (10 miles away, across the lake)

Thanks for your help! You've confirmed what I've thought about the places. Camp Prendergast has got back to me and I'm looking forward to going up there, and I'll probably check out both of these places, as they are both close to the Institution, and sound like places I'd enjoy, each having its advantages. Thanks again!!

There's a small campground near there called Camp Prendergast. We've stayed there a couple of times and enjoyed the small quiet atmosphere there. It's about 90% seasonal units in the full hook-up area. There Ph# is 716-789-3485. Being as they're closed for the winter it might take a bit for them to return you call. Camp Chautauqua is about 1 mile from Camp Prendergast and is a much larger campground right on the lake. It will be much busier and more going onSo it depends on what you want - piece and quiet setting, or activity.
