Anyone know how 17 south is through North Carolina and South Carolina? I like to take this leisurely route when I head to Florida at the beginning of November.
Have Fiver will travel with little or no notice at all. I do need to stop at rest areas now and then:)

Yes we travel that route each year once or twice. I was not sure if any sections would be closed due to the flooding.

We also use 17 a lot. Itโ€™s not a bad route but much slower than interstates due to traffic lights and lower speed limits. You canโ€™t be in a hurry on it. :C

You called it โ€˜coastalโ€™ but personally I would not tag it that since most of it is inland without ocean views. If your intent was to be along the coast then 17 is not the one.

Just my opinion

We take a 17 a lot, not a bad road. A lot of 4 lane and a few lights in some small towns.
