We are going to make a two day stop in Denver and so far I have not found a nice place there. Does anyone have a suggestion? We are traveling with a 4 and 8 year old boys and are going to be staying long enough to visit with a couple of old friends. If the place has a pool and playground then the boys can play while we talk. I was also hoping to avoid the wild fires.
One of our favorite spots is
Clear Creek RV Park -- the biggest issue is getting in, need to call at 6:55 in the morning to get your name on the list -- keep redialing till you get through -- they do not take reservations and if you call a day or two ahead they will give you an indication of your chances.
This is a great park for kids -- on Clear Creek -- the city Recreation area is adjacent to the CG -- town is a short walk -- Community center is a shorter walk -- swings and play ground is Adjacent -- Coors tour is a good long walk -- School of Mines is across the Creek -- Buffalo Bills Grave is just up the road -- If this is not for you look at
Golden Gate Canyon SP -- this is also very hard to get into but usually has some room in the middle of the week -- you can make reservations -- Jefferson County fairgrounds is another option --
JeffCO -- Hope this is of some help.
Just a note -- Clear Creek is changing as the area has been discovered by the locals and the last time we were there in the Summer it and the Creek were really being used.
