HELP! Recommendation needed for south of Orlando

Hi Folks!

Next year will be the first time we are considering winter camping in Florida. We have camped in Georgia a few years back, but the weather did not cooperate with low temperatures and too much rain.

This time we thought we would camp further south for warmer winter temperatures. Upon going through the various campgrounds listed on the web, it is difficult to make a decesion, as I found there is really not any photos that show the space between campers and what the surrounding area is like.

My preference would be a larger lot with trees and amenities such as a heated pool or indoor one.

Yes, I know I am going to have to make a decesion soon, as most likely the campgrounds are fillling up. I have one recommendation for a campground, but not sure if this location by The Villages will be warm enough for us.

Thank you for your help and advise....much appreciated!

“We have camped in Georgia a few years back, but the weather did not cooperate with low temperatures and too much rain.”

That’s exactly what I told Uncle Sam a few years back but he said I had to go there anyway...or to Leavenworth.

As said Google earth/maps and I like to look at Google images pulled from Google maps when I click on a campground. There may be hundreds of photos posted and gives you a feel of the place along with reviews.

I often resort to Google Earth and see how the sites look on there. What you have to realize on here is if someone tells you publicly the "xyz" is a super spot, well shortly after that, everyone is booking it for themselves.

It's like asking someone where they caught all those fish, the most often heard answer is "Oh, just out in the ocean..."

Good luck with your quest.
