Horse campers

Anybody run into these folks before?

What an entourage this is. 5 horses (yes 5) , 3 dogs, 3 people in this Beverly Hillbillies' trailer pulled by an aging pickup. They brought their own horse corral and set it up right in the campsite. I felt sorry for the horses.. no shade, and when travelling crammed into that tight space in back.

I'm really not sure why management would let this in in the first place. Perhaps they lied. 5 horses can make a real mess of a campsite. I'm not sure I'd want to be the next occupants.

A couple Rangers came around the next day, talked to them for quite a while, and this morning they packed up and left.

Looks to me like you don't have anything better to do today. ICE and border patrol.. that's funny.

Yes, they were undercover testing the 10-year-old rig and 1 horse rule.

No, I look down on what appears to be poor judgment and animal abuse.

I don't see animal cruelty, a day in the sun isn't cruelty, we worked our horses many a hot day when I was a kid.

There are many contractors that work for the ICE & border Patrol. that have less than new equipment and don't care what you think.

Had you found horses bleeding or mis-aboused I'd hope you would report it. not cry about it here.

I hope the statement of walking them to the restroom was tongue in cheek

Get your quote right, Tom didn't say that.

Behind the white part. Pretty small.

No, I look down on what appears to be poor judgment and animal abuse. It was a hot day and 4 of the horses were desperately trying to get what little shade was available behind the trailer. The 5th guy was trapsing around in the heat, dipping his face in a large black bucket, then looking up at me and licking his lips. I know what that means, so I went over and found the water bin almost empty. I mentioned it to the lady, who said 'the others will be right back.' I had no idea what that meant.

This was a huge campsite with plenty of shade trees behind it, so I don't understand why they'd set up the corral in the site itself, unless of course they had to use the trailer as a wall. I didn't see them walking the horses to the restroom, so I can imagine the site was well-drenched in urine.

I'm surprised to see them that close to a paved road.

The high country trail head parking lots off the north cascade highway are totally full of horse trailers this time of year.
Surprising -- horses don't care if their trailers are pretty. ..... ๐Ÿ™‚ and they will tolerate heat better than people. Farmers work their horses pretty hard in hot Summer days.

They were probable told where there were better facilities, If they were doing anything against the rules they would have been told to move right away.

I would agree that is pretty cramped quarters for 5 horses, 3 dogs, and 3 humans. The picture below id DD's 4 horse slant with small living quarters in the front, just enough room for a wet bath, 2 burner cook top, small sink, small refer, and a place to sleep.
Looking at that rig, can't see where 5 horses fit.
