Indiana State Park recommendations - north/central

We are thinking of coming down from Michigan next week and was looking for recommendations.

Any parks that are good for hiking/biking
Any parks close to Indy?

Don't need boating or fishing just places to hang out maybe close to attractions.

Are the parks mostly empty this time of year, can you drive in and easily find a site?

Thanks

Turkey Run x3! Fantastic hiking trails! It's popular in the fall due to the covered bridge festival & fall colors, so reservations are strongly recommended. Arguably the most popular park in the state.

If you are wanting to visit the area north of Indy, Prophetstown SP near Lafayette is nice. Definitely get a FHU pull-thru - better sites than the others.

If hiking and near Indy are some requirements then Turkey Run is your park!
