Seems like I read somewhere that golf carts are allowed at James Island County Park. Is this true? Is the place overrun with the carts? What part of the park allows the carts?

We only saw park employees on carts. We used Folly rd to Central park in and out and our camper is 13'2" with no problems. It is a very nice place for a bike.

The easy way to get into JICP is to take Folly Road, turn right on George L Griffin Blvd (just before Walmart), at end turn right on Riverside Dr, turn left after crossing bridge into JICP.

This avoids the tight right turn onto Camp Rd and the low hanging limbs on Riverside Dr and Central Park Rd. It does add about 1.8 miles but only 1 traffic light.

I was just there for a week , I would be more worried about low hanging trees getting in there than a very few carts. And my motor home is only 12' 9"

While they are allowed but believe you have to have insurance and registered with the state. Not sure how they handle our of state visitors. There are not that many running around the park. So few in fact that I have hardly ever seen them.
